The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Smoke Grey’ showcases a pop of Varsity Red on the ankle flap, stamped with a classic Jordan Wings logo on the lateral side. The rest of the upper is finished in strictly neutral tones, highlighted by a white leather base with grey suede overlays. A black Nike Swoosh is complemented by matching black hits on the collar and rubber outsole. Nike branding atop the white nylon tongue tag completes the OG aesthetic.

Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 1 has begun to surface in several summer-ready makeups as of late, one of which is the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Light Smoke Grey.” An appealing jumble of divergent inspirations, the “Light Smoke Grey” melds pieces both classic and new for a fresh — yet inherently familiar — look.

High-cut uppers use traditional tumbled white leather on quarter panels and toeboxes, but switch to a new-age suede on the grey mudguard, eyestays and heel. Although the materials are decidedly divergent, these base tones are somewhat Dior Air Jordan 1-adjacent. Meanwhile, collars and Swooshes are dressed in black suede while the collar flaps use standard red leather. This Frankenstein-ish juxtaposition of a “Bred” collar on top of a white/grey base call to mind images of UNION’s influential 2019 AJ1 collaborations.
